I have not upgraded from Intralink 3.x to 8.0 & most the nation has not either. Its probably not been out long enough to be bug proof, so patches &/or service packs are probably part of the full upgrade. Jeff's military time requirements have caused him to do it earlier than most. I cant say it will be easy or hard, I dont know his your network, back-up system or release level configuration, etc. I also cant tell you now how long it will take because I dont know how much early preparation you have done & how PTC properly configured of an enviroment you have. If I have to do the account downloads & upgrades, it will take longer. If he has the same demanding time restraints as he specified before, its a no win situation. ================ ================ I had planned on following PTC's detailed steps to upgrade & migrate. I dont see how anyone would have any other logical method. Intralink 8.0 is very similar to PDMLink, where you install an Apache web server, a tomcat servlet engine, an Aphelion/Ldap service/server app & Oracle. The difference is windchill/pdmlink software verses intralink 8.0. I was part of a team to install windchill 6.x & have been traioning on PTC University's Windchill training. Which practically walks you through a windchill install.
