What is ext.tools ?

literally this is the package name for classes you can donwload here for free.
semantically it describes a collection of scripts, classes and tricks we have developed over the years that make your life with windchill easier. they can help developers to be more productive. they let you do things repeatedly with scripts rather than manually.

the archive contains java source and class files for:

• DumpURL retrieve data for URL, can dump headers to STDERR
• ListAll commandline invocation to query details about windchill objects, also lets you delete objects
• PropertyConfigurator allow log4j to monitor it's config file.
• RunListAll allow invokation of webjects/tasks via commandline.
• ToolUtils collection of a few useful methods to help with windchill/IE java programming
• UpdateIBAs set iba values on a holder - if workable checkin/out if necessary. allows to type the object if it implements Typed
• WtProp print a wt.properties property value to STDOUT
• WtWrap set user and password for windchill
• delegates/DropdownActionDelegate
• webjects/Subst allow regular expression substitutions on I*E group data
• a sample log4j.properties file
• scripts/commandline tools depending on some of these classes
• javadoc for the classes provided
• the ext/tools/ListAll.xml InfoEngine task used by RunListAll

prerequisites

• the script wt.bat assumes that you have the grep command in your path. On Windows you can install Cygwin or similar tools or modify bin/wt.bat
